Big Island
Real Estate Agent
It all began fifteen years ago when very successful realtor – and friend of mine on the Big Island – started her own company. She invited me to join her new team sensing that I might have what it takes to be a good team player and more important, a good Realtor. I realized quickly that the profession suited my personality and abilities. Having been born into a diplomatic family I relate well to people of all walks of life and nationalities. With an MA degree, I am able to master the multitude of intricacies Realtors face each and every day.
I am most passionate about communication, attention to detail and finding the right properties for my clients. Each and every person has their own very special needs and wants and there is no way to work without being in communication before, during and after a transaction. Real estate is a detailed profession and requires special attention to detail in order to avoid the many pitfalls that trip up your average realtor. Listening is my most passionate attribute; listening with intention in order to hear what the client really wants and needs in a property. With consistent effort I work on these attributes with each and every client.
To be a successful realtor it takes a multitude of talents, most specifically being a friend without being conciliatory, knowing the market and knowing the ever changing inventory. Perhaps even more important in Hawaii real estate is location. I have experience in all areas of Hawaii Island, having traveled it extensively. I pride myself in being able to talk knowledgeably about all areas of this terrific Island.
My biggest professional accomplishment has been recognized as the biggest producer at my previous real estate office in a particular year. In another life, successfully managing a fleet of 18 Alaska fishing boats and an associated fish processing plant for 13 years. Considering the nature of the business I consider this quite an accomplishment.
When not working, I never have enough time to read all the accumulated books and magazines I have. Vacations are spent bare boat sailing in the Caribbean. Any time with my one granddaughter is simply not enough and my four children are a special creation. A completely different zone.
