""My husband and I decided in February 2013 that we wanted to purchase a
property on the Big Island and relocate from Oahu. We found a few properties
online and made a trip back in April to check them out. We called a few realtors
and none seemed very interested in helping. On a whim, we called the listing
agent for a property we were interested in and David answered the phone. He
stated the listing agent was not available, but he would be happy to come the
next day (which happened to be our last day on the island) to show us the place
and a few more if we would like. Well, needless to say, we did not like the house,
but we had found our realtor. He was accommodating to our short timeline and
extremely knowledgeable of life on the Big Island. We returned home to Oahu
and David was great in responding to our numerous (admittedly sometimes
excessive) emailing. We are the kind of people that know what we want and go
for it. After a few more trips back and forth and countless diamonds in the rough,
he found us the perfect house. David was great about not wasting our time
showing us properties that did not meet our criteria as many realtors do. He
understood exactly what we were looking for and that we were on a limited
timeline each time we came to look at properties. Once we entered escrow David
had his work cut out for him when the neighboring property, which had just sold,
brought in a rooster farm. David was out there with a video camera and
documenting everything for us since another trip back was not feasible. He also
intervened immediately when he discovered the sellers were attempting to "fix"
the rooster problem by putting up a vinyl fence without getting our input first.
(This by the way would not have remedied the issue.) By him going above and
beyond, he kept us from backing out of the sale, and we are thankful. David's
knowledge of the area and his construction background really assisted us in
picking the right house and helped keep our overzealous imagination in check at
times. Even after the sale was final (which was in September), he was generous
enough to let us use his truck to haul some lawn equipment. So for those of you
tracking the timeline, we contacted David in April with a laundry list of wants and
desires and by September we had closed getting exactly what we were looking
for. David was not only our realtor we now consider him a friend and would
recommend anyone looking for a realtor to give him a call immediately"
